EU Wine Labeling Regulations
WineScience.com is pleased to provide members with
an overview of the EU wine labeling regulations. There are a number
of various wine labeling requirements and we suggest that you take
a close look at each of these sections to ensure that your product
is in full compliance with all of the EU regulations.
With the signing of the new US-EU wine agreement,
the EU has provided certain benefits for US wines sold in the EU.
Examples of these benefits can be found in the presentation on the
new wine labeling regulations. Please note that these benefits only
apply to wines from the US and not to wines from outside
the US. For example, if your winery imports wine from Chile and
exports that product to the EU, the wine in question will not be
eligible for the benefits under the US-EU wine agreement. If you
are exporting non-US wine to the EU and you have any questions about
regulations governing non-US wine, please contact Jim Clawson, Chief
Executive Officer at 202.463.8493 or via
e-mail.
